Alaska? Really?

I am pretty much a "hot weather girl". My idea of vacation is a lounge chair at the pool or beach with a pool boy near by to keep me supplied with food and drink. So when Dave decided to plan this trip to Alaska, I wasn't really sure if I wanted to go. Now that my departure is a week away, I am getting excited. I do love mountains and water, so I think I will like Alaska. Right now I am thinking that it will be a lot like the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

I was born in Denver and lived in Colorado for many years, there is no place (so far) more beautiful to me than the Rocky Mountains. We will see how Alaska matches up!

Dave headed out today with the motorhome all packed up and ready to travel the Alaska Highway. This is a major adventure on Dave's bucket list so you can only imagne how excited he is about this trip. He will be checking in along the way as he travels thru the Yukon to Anchorage.

  1. I don't know if you have time, but you should check with some of the local RV dealers to see if they have windshield treatment! At least make sure that before you leave, you lower the comprehensive deductible on your RV so that way any flying rocks that hit the motorhome or windshield can be fixed cheaply. This time of year on the Al-Can hiway there are lots of rocks! Using the comp portion of your insurance WILL NOT make your premium go up next year, collision is the one you hate to use because that does go up. I have a 250 comp ded and 750 collision deductible........ call asap because your ins may want to take photos before the trip!
