Alaska Highway

Dave has successfully reached the Alaska Highway.  It took two solid days of driving to get there, but he actually made it a day earlier that he had planned.  Now he will be traveling through the Yukon to Anchorage.  To him this is really the start of the trip.  He reported that the Highway is really busy - a lot of people heading to Alaska.

Alaska? Really?

I am pretty much a "hot weather girl". My idea of vacation is a lounge chair at the pool or beach with a pool boy near by to keep me supplied with food and drink. So when Dave decided to plan this trip to Alaska, I wasn't really sure if I wanted to go. Now that my departure is a week away, I am getting excited. I do love mountains and water, so I think I will like Alaska. Right now I am thinking that it will be a lot like the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

I was born in Denver and lived in Colorado for many years, there is no place (so far) more beautiful to me than the Rocky Mountains. We will see how Alaska matches up!

Dave headed out today with the motorhome all packed up and ready to travel the Alaska Highway. This is a major adventure on Dave's bucket list so you can only imagne how excited he is about this trip. He will be checking in along the way as he travels thru the Yukon to Anchorage.

July 8th - 11th: Heritage RV Park, Homer
